CONCERNS REGARDING ACCOUNT 6019-600 - TUITION AND TRANSPORTATION
Governor Lynch's budget makes substantial reductions in Account 6019-600. Further cuts are being considered including the possibility of totally eliminating funding for this account.
This is NOT A TAX CUT, rather it down-shifts the cost to local school districts that would be required to absorb the expense.
ALL Federal Perkins Funds would be FORFEITED if Account 6019-600 is reduced or eliminated. These funds are used at the local level to support career and technical education programs, primarily the purchase of equipment and technology.
11,500 NH high school students are currently enrolled in career and technical education programs. The future of those programs is seriously jeopardized if Tuition and Transportation funds and Federal Perkins funds are lost.
